Beautiful antique 14k Victorian mourning locket brooch. The back may be opened in order to place hair or other personal mementos of someone who has passed. Mourning brooches like this were very popular during the Victorian era to hold the keepsake of a loved one that has passed close to the wearer of the brooch. This one is in exceptionally nice condition. It has its original crystal cover in the back and what appears to be a design made of hair in the inside. This can be opened and removed and one could place whatever they wish inside. The locket brooch weighs 15.5 grams. It measures 1-3/4 inches wide, 1-3/8 inches high and weighs 15.5 grams.
