Pair of Antique Purple Paste Earrings Circa. 1890-1900 European. Sterling silver with bezel set clear round paste stones. Large (1/2 inch) round purple paste stone at bottom. The purple color of the paste is amazing! More beautiful than the finest amethyst. This is due to the nature and large lead content of the paste stone. The earrings measure 1 1/2 inches in length (with wires) 1 inch without wire. There is a hallmark at back of the bezel of the purple stone. Both earrings are in pristine condition. 6.0 gr. 3.9 dwt.
