Victorian brooch or pin by an early New Zealand colonial maker. Sterling silver mount is ornately engraved with scrolls etc, and has a scalloped edge to the setting of an oval piece of banded agate. The rear is stamped Stg. Silver. and has a "G.L." stamp in two places. Possibly by George Lumsden (ex Scotland and Australia) who worked in Invercargill. Scottish style of brooch, measuring 3.2 cm by 3.8 cm. Excellent condition.
