Late 19th century necklace, turquoise scarabs on gold chain. There are 11 scarabs, some in the scarab beetle shape, some in some form of shell shape, and one central tablet - all with Egyptian hieroglyphics and symbols on the rear. Necklace measures 43 cm long (17 inches). One small shell-shape has a chip on it, photo shows rear with chip, but from the front it isn't so noticeable.
Scarabs are about 1.5 cm by 1.1 cm each. Chain clasp tests as 12 carat gold.
