Antique, Victorian / early Edwardian harem ring. Also known as an Antique Thai Princess or nine-gem ring. Made of 14 carat gold, diamonds and rubies. Made circa 1900. US size 7 3/4. Weighs 4.3grams. Wonderful design: simple gold flank with gold openwork on the shoulders with filigree details. Rises in conical form in a complex combination of colette set diamonds and tear-shaped rubies, in symbolic flower form, culminating in a round, colette-set ruby. Very fine; very charming. Old Victorian workmanship cannot be met today. Hallmarked inside the flank with a triangular mark whose significance is unknown to us, as well as engraved 14k. Good, original condition.
