Antique Victorian earrings. Like most Victorian jewellery, gems set in silver on gold. Circa 1860-80. Approximately 1 3/4 inches long. Weigh 7.8grams together. Ear studds replace the original earwires. They are connected by loops to an oval support on which a bird, with partially open wings perches above a moving branch with foliage and golden berries. Another gold ''berry'' (a gold bead) swings from the bottom. The bird is pave set with turquoise and pearls and has one red eye, which is probably a tiny ruby (too small for me to test). The gold is variously textured with very fine detail to the foliage. The earrings are very well made and quite exquisite. Very comfortable to wear and best of all, match every outfit. Guarranteed to get a lot of compliments every time you wear them. No marks on the gold, tested for 9 carats. Very good condition. Status: For Sale Reference#: 4290 Condition: good Year: 1860 Title: ANTIQUE VICTORIAN EARRINGS PAVE TURQUOISE PEARL BIRD
