Antique, Victorian 18carat gold and blue enamel bow ribbon brooch. Made late 19th - early 20th century. Possibly Swiss. Measurements: 1 inch long. Weighs 5 grams. Symbol of fidelity and stability, the bow was a popular theme in Georgian and Victorian jewellery. This bow is probably a little later as the movement and sinuous form indicate - probably dating to the Art Nouveau era or early 20th century. There is a highly successful contrast between the deep golden and blue colours. The gold is left to border the blue enamelled ribbon tied in a bow and to decorate it with little flowers and foliage. Original, secure pin and clasp. There is a maker''s hallmark in the center of the back. The gold tested for 18k. Good condition. Status: For Sale Reference#: 4210 Condition: good Year: 1860 Title: ANTIQUE VICTORIAN BROOCH 18K GOLD BLUE ENAMEL BOW RIBON
