Antique Georgian earrings. Gold, enamel and diamonds. Very tiny - probably for a baby or small child. Made circa 1795-1810. Length, not including the earwires is 11mm (under 1/2 inch). Diamond drops are approx 2mm long. Together weigh 1gram. The Classic look of this tiny pair of earrings is very much in line with the style of Josephine and Napoleon Bonaparte''s court. A round disk, white enamal border, deep blue ground with a golden daisy-like flower with a white enamel center. The disk suspends a pear-shaped rose-cut diamond, collet-set with the back fully enclosed. The way the gold is ''pulled'' up around the diamond indicates a very early date. While there are no hallmarks, the disks test for 18k gold. Good condition with natural negligible signs of age such as minor crazing to some parts of enamel and replaced earwires.
