Antique, Georgian torpedo drop earrings. Made late 18th century. Circa 1780. Excluding the loops, these are over 2 1/4 inches long. Drop dead gorgeous, classic Georgian earrings, made of gilt metal (not gold). A 3-leaved clover suspends a torpedo shape with moulded, scrolling sides and front and back very finely moulded with fruit, foliage and other pretty patterns. Lobed bottom in decreasing sizes, also finely detailed. While the earrings are not gold and the highly magnified ''photos show wear to the gilding, this is not noticeable to the naked eye. The earrings look great, are very comfortable to wear and considering their age, in good shape without dings or dents.
