Antique brooch / pin pendant. 14carat gold, amethyst. Made during the Georgian era, 18th to early 19th century. Weighs 4.7grams. Measures approx 1 1/8 inches (29mm) top to bottom, excluding the loop. Middle stone is approx 3/8 inch (9mm) long. 9 beautiful amethysts, with good deep colour are set in a diamond shape. 4 round stones, 4 pear-shaped stones and a large oval in the center. The amethysts are colette set with scalloped borders. The borders are defined by gold cannetille and rope-like filigree in cones with granules on top. Granules of gold on the outer edges of the amethysts. The piece is versatile and can be worn as either a brooch / pin, or a pendant. A generously sized loop on top and simple c-clasp pin on the back.
