Antique Georgian bracelet made of 15 carat rose gold and set with 4 diamonds and an emerald. Most likely made in England, circa 1800-1830''s. Diameter of central flower is 21-22mm. Links of bracelet are 6mm wide. Like most Georgian jewellery, the bracelet is very light - weighs 10.5 grams. 7 inches long, not including the ''tongue'' of the clasp. The sides of the bracelet are made of marvellous links in the form of flowers in bud, connected by with horse-shoe shaped backs, allowing for movement and flexibility. These horse-shoe links are gradated in size, with the smallest towards the clasp. The end link has a little round loop, presumably where a safety chain once existed. The beauty of the back of this bracelet extends particularly to the central medallion, which is quite lovely from the back as well. From the front, the center is a flower, made up of many fine, gold petals, stamen radiating outwards from the middle with little globes at their ends and in the center a green stone surrounded by 4 diamonds. The diamonds definately test as diamonds (not immitation). The central stone was sold to me as emerald and it tests as such on the Presidium gemtester, but I am not entirely sure whether this is accurate. Either way, it is a genuine stone and a very lovely bright green colour. Like most Georgian jewellery, there are no hallmarks. Good condition.
