Antique, Edwardian very long chain necklace - 18k gold and diamonds. Made 1900 - 1910. Necklace measures approx 63inches long. It weighs 20grams. THe necklace is typical of the fine workmanship of the Edwardian era. Also consistant with that Belle Epoque is the use of small diamonds to offset jewellery. The necklace consists of sections of small loops, divided by a diamond and alternating with a long ''loop''. THe long sections have mirror-image flat, leaf shapes, with a twisted gold coil in an open space between them. A gemologise estimated that there are well over 2 carats of diamonds in the necklace, including the fact that one small stone is missing (shown magnified in the pictures) - very easy to replace.
