Antique Restoration era 18carat gold Memorial crystal skull ring, set with diamonds. Made circa 1680, during the reign of Charles II. US size 7. Very small ring. Rectangular bezel with canted corners. Collet set crystal under which is a gruesome skull. The closed, domed back has typical starburst crimping. The relatively simple hoop divides into 3 at the shoulders. On either side of the bezel, the central branch of the hoop is set with a pair of small diamonds. The smaller, side branches of the hoop have simple scrolling decoration. Condition is very good, especially considering the age of the ring.
