Antique Victorian Art Nouveau ring. Opal set in silver and gold. Made circa 1890-1910. US size 8. Weighs approx 4 grams. Length of top of ring just under 1 inch. Classic Art Nouveau: an elegant, elongated ring set with an opal that glistens blues and greens, with a lot of fire and light. It is set in a silver mount, consisting of engraved flowers and foliage, joined by 3 tendrils on either side to the shank, which is 14k gold. The mount seems to wrap itself over the stone in a unique manner, without regular claws. (the top of the foliage instead of claws). Hallmarked 14K inside the shank. Condition appears good. Enlarged ''photos show some darkening on the inside of the shank, which could indicate later work, but we are not aware of any having been done.
