Antique ring serving as an amulet - a token against bad luck / to bring good luck to the wearer. Made of silver set with a large stone, which might be amber or carnelian. Very old - well over 100 years old, but not possible to date more exactly. Originates in India. Ring is large and can be worn by a man. It is a US size 11, measuring 1 inch accross at the widest part. Set in silver with simple filigree decoration around the pulled silver (collet) that holds the stone in place. The stone is engraved by hand. We don''t know which is the right way up, so we showed it both ways. Clearly worn by previous generations, the ring is nevertheless in good condition.
