made by Jenning Bros. with Initial JB and number 1410 in vintage era. a heavy duty bronze ormolu jewelry box, in gorgeous design. A keep sake and memorabilia with incredible workmanship, art Nouveau Rococo style, decorated bows bloom flowers on each corner, geometric square 2" center medallion. hinged, with condition issue, a crack visible and noted on the images. base is beautifully designed with relief and bubbles, initialed on the corner with foundry number. initialed and in bold large relief, noted on the image. The interior lined with fiery red velvet and in pretty fabulous condition. the cover has few aged issues, wear and spots result of being around for so long. we date this likely from post art nouveau era. The actual JB is known to have initial signature, and numbers which this box has them both.
measuring: 1.25" H. x Square 4" and slightly footed in mm.
jenning bros. foundry operation were in Bridgeport Ct. started 1890 moved to Elm street, and was out of business in 1950's . sold and taken over by another company and factory in Philadelphia PA utilizing the casts and making replica objects.
