Antique Gruen gold filled open face pocket watch. The watch has a beautiful hand chased case. The back of the case is a screw back. It has a cartouche where one could engrave there name or initials. The inside of the back case reads STAR W.C.C. WARRANTED 20 YEARS. The serial number on the back of the case is 4253509. The back of the watch movement has a maker's mark and also reads WATCH SPECIALTY CO 15 JEWELS 3 ADJUSTS. The face of the watch reads GRUEN. It has a subsidiary second hand dial. The minute and hour hand are very unusual, they look like they might glow in the dark. The watch measures 1-5/8 inches from side to side. From the bottom of the watch to the top of the watch ring it measures 2-1/4 inches. This is a beautiful watch that may be worn on a chain as a pendant watch by a lady or carried in the pocket of a gentleman. This is a very nice Art Deco watch in excellent pre-owned condition.
