A 17inch all-composition baby doll made by the Reliable company, Toronto Canada, early 20th century.The entire body and head are made of painted composition, which is in remarkably good condition, considering the age and delicate nature of the material. Moulded, painted hair, red painted mouth, blue painted eyes that close when she lies down and bristle eyelashes. Neck swivels as do arms and legs.The clothes are old style, but not original.The doll has embossed mark on the back of her neck: RELIABLE Made in CANADA.Both dolls are in remarkable condition for their age - as close to mint as any composition doll.
