A 13inch all-composition baby doll almost certainly made by the Reliable company, Toronto Canada, early 20th century. Christening costume. The entire body and head are made of painted composition, which is in remarkably good condition, considering the age and delicate nature of the material. Moulded, painted hair, red painted mouth, brown glass eyes that close when she lies down and bristle eyelashes. Neck swivels as do arms and legs. The clothes are old style, but not original. There are no marks to be found on the doll, but she is very similar to the 17inch doll from the same collection, which is marked Reliable. Both dolls are in remarkable condition for their age - as close to mint as any composition doll. The only fault I could find on this doll is the left eye, which is milky. Status: For Sale Reference#: 1914 Condition: See Description Year: See Description
