Description: This is a fabulous sheared raccoon coat from the 1940s. It is very soft and has that great 1940's shape with the bell sleeves scooped hem. The lining is fantastic with embroidered tufetted poodles. We thought we might have struck it rich when we felt the bottom of hem..we asked diamonds? rubies? Are we rich? Yes, rich in coffee beans or soy beans! We believe they were used to keep the moths away. The original tag is attached it says tipped dyed sheared raccoon Origin USA and the original price was $555.75..wow! That was a lot of money in the 1940's!.
