For sale is a wonderful Native American Concho belt by Navajo artist, Roy Vandever. The materials used are leather, sterling silver, turquoise and coral. Each concho measures approximately 1 1/2" x 1". The buckle measures 1 1/8" x 1 5/8". The belt is 40 1/2" long and 1/2" wide and is black leather. It is signed on the back of the buckle "By Roy Vandever". Roy Vandever was a Navajo silversmith listed in Barton Wright's book Hallmarks of the Southwest. Reportedly Vandever was from the Prewitt, New Mexico region. He died at the age of 72 in January 2009. Very good condition. One concho slightly bent. Can be shaped easily by a silversmith. See right side of last photo. Unpolished condition the way the savy collectors like them.
