For sale is a lovely evening bag made by Bags by Josef or Gold Seal Importers of New York. It is an evening bag with a short beaded strap. The purse measures approximately 12 1/2" overall height with the handle included. The bag itself measures 6 1/2" tall to the exterior of the arched frame and is 8 1/2" wide. These measurements are approximate as it is a silk lined bead embroidered purse.

The purse depicts a floral motif of a white seed bead background with clear and white beads used for the flowers. There are iridescent bugle glass beads for the flower stems and veining on the leaves. The leaves are outlined with a bronze colored bead and it is a very nice contrast. The floral pattern is on both sides of the bag. The strap or handle is fully decorated with the white and clear beads.The frame on this purse is a work of art in itself as it also is bead embroidered on the 1" wide gold colored metal frame. The flower pattern was care fully executed to look like a floral braid across the top of the frame. The sides of the frame were included in the decor as each side has 2 3/4" beaded accents as well. Finally the clasp is finished with a single flower to finish the look. The interior of the purse is lined with an ivory colored silk and two interior pockets. There is also a label sewn in that reads "BAGS BY Josef HAND BEADED IN FRANCE". Gold Seal Importers sold bags that were imported as well as finer bags made in the United States. The workmanship in this bag is telltale of being made in France as they were known for superb workmanship in this industry.

The purse is in Very Good to Excellent Condition as there are no missing beads, tears in the lining or damage to the frame. There are a couple of minor stains that could possibly come out at the dry cleaners but I am saving that for the lucky new owner of this gem. This would make a lovely addition to your very special event or evening.
