Old Koteret L''Aharon ( Ha Kodesh), curtain for the Holy Ark. Made in the Middle East/North Africa - one of the Muslim States and dating to early-mid 20th century (circa 1950-60). This would have hung above and in front of a longer curtain / door.Measures 55 inches long.Red velvet with gold fring. Scalloped. In each curve is a gold Star of David with a large immitation gem stone diamond in the center. Below it is a golden laurel leaf swag, also set with immiation gems.Orange silk backing. Silver and gold ribbon borders top and sides.Loops on the top for hanging the curtain. Condition is excellent except for wear where the loops were sewn onto the gold ribbon border on the top.
