Outstanding and truly magnificent 17th Century Flemish tapestry emblematic of "October," from the Zodiac series, woven by Jean de la Croix of France (1662-1712). Depicting figures engaged in the harvest of grapes and the production of wine. The border incorporating festooned columns, feline gargoyles and additional autumnal and animal imagery. Woven name "D.L. Croix" lower right. Jean de la Croix was in charge of one of the low-warp loom workshops at the Goeblins Tapestry Manufactory.
