Hand embroidered Torah mantle from Palestine, pre 1940. The cover measures 26 inches long and the straps add another 4 1/2 inches.Deep forst green velvet on which the Lions of Judah besides the Luchot Ha Brit (Tablets with 10 Commandments) and beneath which is the Crown of G-d, a Star of David above it. Hebrew embroidered prayer for opening the Holy Ark and Kaf Taf (Keter Torah). The date Taf Shin Bet is embroidred underneath with a view of the Western wall Kotel HaMaaravi, favorate Bezalel symbol. Garlands of flowers support the lions and a dedication to family members is embroidered on the bottom. Workmanship is quite lovely with very fine sewing and beautiful, design. Condition is wonderful.
