Genuine old silver amulet traditionally inscribed by a holy person and intended to ward off any potential evil influences. Near Eastern, probably 19th century. Measurements: 2'' wide and 2 1/4'' high. The amulet is badge-shaped with two loops at the top through which a cord or chain can be attached. It is inscribed in Arabic lettering. There are no silver hallmarks on this amulet as is typical of old Persian (etc) pieces of those days. Condition: good.
