Germanic Renaissance Revival mid 19th century commemorative silver gilt beaker. The beaker has a high relief portrait of an Austrian or Hungarian gentleman. His dress indicates he may be royalty. To his right is engraved the date 1649. To his left is more engraving. The entire beaker is gold plated over the silver. There are 4 Austrian cast silver coins dating from the 17th century inset in the beaker. All of the decorative design is in full high relief. The beaker is in excellent condition. It has period and 17th century hallmarks. This is a very important presentation piece sure to please the most knowledgeable and advanced silver collector. The beaker is in excellent condition.
