A finely crafted and decorated, rectangular silver box from late 18th C. British Colonial Ceylon, ( modern day Sri Lanka.) With a hinged, fitted lid decorated in a bas relief, traditional floral motif which continues the design on the body of the box. The bottom has in incised version of the general lid design. In very good condition with only normal wear from use and age. 3 and one quarter inches by two and one eighth inches by one and one eighth inches.
