Exceptionally beautiful and unusual pair of antique Dutch silver wine strainers / fruit servers / sifter spoons.Date to 19th century or earlier.Measure 7 1/2inches long. Weigh about 3 1/2oz.Very likely wine strainers as wine in those days had to be strained before it was drunk.The elongated bowl is tear shaped. It has scalloped edges with minutely fine bright cut edges. Besides a narrow solid margin, the rest is all wonderful scrolling openwork, further enhanced by bright cut engraving. The handle arches and widens as it curves and rounds. Gently scalloped edges, decorated the same way as the bowl. Very delicate and beautiful engraving on the rounded edge.Various Dutch hallmarks on the back of each handle. Excellent condition.
