Antique 800 standard silver teaset and tray. Made in Germany, late 19th - early 20th century. Consists of: tray 17 1/2 X 13 1/2 inches. Hot water / coffee pot 9 3/4 inches high. Teapot 8 1/2 inches high. Milk jug / creamer 5 1/4 inches high. Sugar bowl with lid 5 inches high. Total weight 3060 grams. Solid silver with octagonal faceted shapes and beaded borders. Handles are scalloped, sturdy and wide. Quietly elegant and eminently useful. Each piece has 800 silver mark, maker''s mark and German Kaiser mark with crown and crescent moon, used up to the First World War, thus dating the set to latest 1914. Tray is also engraved ''handgeschlagen'' (handhammered). Very good condition.
