Vintage sterling silver wine Kiddush goblet. Made in Israel at the Bezalel School of Arts and Crafts, circa 1948-1955. Measures 3 7/8 inches high and weighs 40grams. Classic Arts and Crafts combining the influences of the Yemenite craftsmen and silversmiths and the teachers of the Bauhaus School in Germany. The vines and vine leaf design incorporates the names Bezalel and Yerushalaim (Jerusalem) as well as the blessing over wine, Borei Pri HaGefen. Silver filigree work on the base and under the rim is typical of Middle Eastern, especially Yemenite silver craftsmen. Very beautiful both in design and execution. Marked on the base: ISRAEL 925 and 30 in a shield. Very good condition with no dings/dents/damage/restoration.
