Beautiful Tiffany sterling silver kidney shaped serving spoon. Approximately 9 1/2" long. Monogrammed with an M on the back of the handle. This piece was made to serve berries. Marks include TIFFANY & CO, STERLING, Pat. 1878 There is a monogram on the back of the letter M. Marks include TIFFANY & CO, STERLING, Pat. 1878 and the letter T. The letter T was used between 1891-1902. There are 17 different motifs listed in a Tiffany brochure c.1880. This serving spoon has motif number 4, Venus born of the sea, is drawn in her shell by dolphins driven by Cupid, who bears the laurel branch. On the back are the emblems of love - the myrtle, quiver, doves, torches and the burning heart. Very good condition.
