Grandly crafted in intricate Islamic style, this masterpiece of silver was made by the renowned Mexican silver shop of Tane, probably around 1955. It is modeled after a Spanish Renaissance creation of the Thirteenth Century and sports a lively dragon handle and spout, both deeply carved. The paneled sides have magnificent designs engraved to emulate superb tapestries. Weighing in at some three pounds and measuring some 8-1/2 inches tall and nine inches at the spout, it is pleasure to serve from and is in mint condition. Marks on the rim inside the base: "Made in Mexico, Sterling Silver," "Tane" and the eagle-and-serpent arms of Mexico.
