Wonderful grouping of two English sterling silver 18th century tea or coffee spoons by Hester Bateman, 1709-1794. One is approximately 4 7/8" and the other is 5" long. Each is marked with the HB for Hester Bateman and the walking lion that is standard for English sterling silver. The one that is monogrammed with a "B" has a feathered edge that is slightly worn from age and use. The one with the "AD" monogram is slightly rough on the top edge of the handle. Both have handles that are slightly bent downward. Date marks are not visible but they came from the same collection that had a pair of salt spoons circa 1775. Hester Bateman is known as "The Queen of English Silversmiths".
