This is a Japanese inspired sterling pattern ,attributed to Edward C. Moore, chief designer and head of Tiffany silver department. No patent for this antique silver pattern has been found in the files of the U.S. Patent Office or in the Tiffany Archives. This Tiffany sterling flatware pattern was introduced in 1872. It became inactive before 1904, the dies being destroyed due to poor condition. This antique silver pattern is unique as it does have various motifs, the one being offered is grape. Here is an exotic Tiffany sterling server,11 3/8" long,crisp design. The embossed sterling silver blade has an even satin vermeil finish. There is a script monogram of the period on the reverse.
