An early Tiffany and Co. triple-fold brown leather wallet with internal change purse fashioned from pig skin with chased floral decorated sterling silver frame. This wallet is an early example by Tiffany, made during Moore's presidency of the company between 1869-1891. The leather is supple and pliable. The interior is lined with a contrasting black leather with several pockets and a sterling framed change purse. The leather is stamped 'pig skin' and also bears the Tiffany & Co., New York impressed stamp, together with the Paris address, Rue de L'Opera, Paris. The sterling parts are also stamped twice with the Tiffany & Co. mark, sterling, and with the 'M' denoting Moore's presidency. Condition is very good considering the age; there is some wear to the outer leather at the edges of the folds, and the rivets of the silver pin of the clasp have become detached from the leather. This pin should be able to be re-attached and made to function as originally designed. Size: 2.75" x 4.5" when closed.
