Little sterling silver purse or dance compact with gilded interior for the powder and a mirror inside the lid. Full British hallmark for Birmingham 1913. Makers mark hard to read, but looks like C.S. & F.F. Engine-turned ring engraving to the exterior. Measures 50 mm diameter and 14 mm thick (2 inches by 1/2 inch). It has a suspension ring, so can be worn as a pendant. (These compacts were sometimes worn on a long chain on which the compact end could be put down the front of a dance dress and used for a quick touch-up of powder. Condition: Some finger dents, and minor small dents to the rear (see photos), all of which could be pushed out by a good jeweller.
