This is a multi-motif sterling silver flatware pattern with seventeen different handle decorations depicting subjects and stories from classical mythology. On this piece is seen Paris, the son of Priam, King of Troy, presenting to Venus the golden apple, he having been called upon by Juno, Minerva, and Venus to adjudge the prize of beauty to the fairest of these goddesses. On the reverse side is the goddess located where the shank meets the bowl. This sterling silver fish slice has the incuse date mark m with underlining and is placed in front of the words Tiffany & Co., indicating 1870 to 1875 or 1878. Length 12 1/2" Sharp design. A showy server for a variety of foods.
