It was Edward C. Moore that propelled Tiffany & Co. into the flatware business. All of the patentable designs of early Tiffany flatware were obtained by him. The patent date of this Olympian server was 1879. It was the most elaborate and complex of all Tiffany's regular flatware patterns.The designs were mythological scenes,with the various pieces having different scenes. This is an exotic Tiffany sterling server that will always be on the dinner party table because it is suitable for many foods. It has wide curved tines, a shell at the base. The reverse has the goddess which is sharp. Date mark T 1891-1902. This server is not available in the current Tiffany catalog.
