Utterly charming Louis XVI style sterling silver trinket or pill box by French Mastersmith Eschwege. The hinged lid boasts a central medallion with three repousse putto, angels, caressing doves amidst flowing drapery. Just beautiful! The cartouche has a pearl border, bell flower and scrolling foliate decoration on either side, surrounded by a sunburst partial fluting effect, a scalloped border with more pearls. delightful! The sides of the box are decorated with twining laurel leaf vines adorned with bows on a finely textured ground. This is bordered on either side with very intricate floral and foliate edging. The interior is coated with gold. Condition is very good to excellent; light signs of use only.
