Fabulous French Empire Revival tea service including a tea pot, creamer and lidded sugar. Beautifully crafted by S & Fils, this set made of the better than sterling .950 silver that makes French sterling collectors of the most discerning sophisticated connoisseur. Each piece decorated with stiff leaf borders & palmetto attachments for the intricately textured legs. The pot and lidded sugar have fluted top knops with stiff leaf bases. The tea pot has a magnificent eagle's head, Napoleon's treasured symbol of Empire, surmounting the tip of the spout. The spout base exquisitely adorned with large scrolling acanthus, and again a stiff leaf base. All legs terminate in paw feet. Condition is good. There are some minor signs of use; a ding here, modest depression there. My silversmith carefully went over every millimeter, and this set is freshly polished. The cream and tea pot have ebony handles. Each piece bears the Minerve 1st titre; French guarantee for .950 silver; and the maker's stamp for S & Fils. Circa 1890-1911.
