An unusual find! An antique French sterling silver flatware set, in the original box, with no monograms and made by a female silversmith! Elegant Louis XVI styling, laurel leaf borders, acanthus leaf accents; all solid sterling. That of course is the .950 sterling the French are renowned for. Condition is quite good. Some signs of use here and there; a tine not quite perfect, some mild scuffing on the knife handles. One flaw on the back of one fork, please see photos; it looks like a slip with the solderer. The cake flatware sets are a special size; the pieces are petite. The knives are 6.75', the forks 5.75". Combines weight of the set is 660 grams.
