This is a fabulous OLD vermeil tea set including 12 spoons, a tea caddy scoop, tongs and strainer. Each piece bears the mark of Jean Devaux, active 1838, and the guarantee for .800 silver. This set is exquisite in decoration, rare in age and in very good to excellent condition. The flatware housed in the original boulle decorated ebony box, with monogram on the box only. Nicest set of this sort I've found.
Dimensions: spoons 5 7/8" long, tongs 6.25" long, 1" wide, scoop is 3 5/8" long, 1.75" wide. The strainer is 3,75" long, 2.5" square width & 0.5" high. The total weight of the silver is 218 grams. The box is 10.75" long, 8.5" wide and 1.5" high.
