The Tiffany sterling silver flatware Vine pattern was introduced by Tiffany in 1872. Due to poor condition of the dies it became inactive prior 1904. This antique silver pattern is unique because it is Japanesque with mutiple motifs, because it has designs that extend around from the obverse to the reverse just as if the pieces were holloware rather than flatware. This antique flatware pattern is the first sterling pattern to achieve three dimensionality. It includes a number of stamped sterling flatware handle designs such as daisies, wheat, iris and grape . The bowl of this antique Tiffany sterling silver grape pattern conch spoon has a wonderful satin vermeil finish. Length 9 1/2". The monogram B is engraved in a style of the period. Date mark M indicating 1869-1891.
