Classic English sterling silver reticulated server, made London 1828 by maker MC, listed as Mary Chawner. Measures 11 3/4 inches long and weighs 138.2g (4.875oz). Elegantly carved server with simple, engraved border decoration and a wonderful reticulate openwork pattern in the center. Can be used to serve fish or asparagus or any other vegetable. Sturday, elegant handle with strong join, typical of the Georgian period. Wide, rounded terminal curves gently back with fold on the back side. Engraved single initial L. Hallmarked on the back with maker MC; lion; leopard; date letter ''n'' and another worn hallmark, which is likely the monarch head. Good condition with no dents/restorations.
