Antique Three-Piece Silverplate Dresser Set Circa. 1904 - 1907 America. Three piece art nouveau silverplate dresser set, consisting of hand mirror, handled hair brush and clothing brush. The overall glorious design consists of putti in repousse playing a variety of musical instruments; With various flowers, including roses, strewn about. The putti and the instruments are different on each piece. There is a central heart shaped cartouche with fancy triple script initials that look like HLT on the two handled pieces, no initials on the clothing brush. The two handled pieces are marked Derby Silver Co. Pat. May 14, 1907 with additional patent date of July 26, 1904 on the mirror. The clothing brush is marked Victor Silver Co. with the 1907 date. Both Derby and Victor became part of International Silver Co. The mirror has a wonderful round, beveled mirror in excellent condition, which appears to be the original mirror. There is some minor wear in the plating on each of the three pieces, and a small dent in the hairbrush handle. This is to be expected in silver items over 100 years old. The mirror measures 10.25 inches long, 6 inches wide and 1 inch deep. The handled brush measures 9 inches long, 3 inches wide and 1.5 inches deep. The other brush measures 7.5 in ches long, 2.25 inches wide and 1.5 inches deep. In very good condition.
