A fine and rare pair of antique 18th century Georgian Old Sheffield Plate candelabra dating to circa 1780.With inverted tapering shafts,trumpet shaped capitals and having Armorial Crests to both candlesticks on the circular base.Old 19th century repairs to base of both shafts and base of one of the branches or arms.Do not be put off however the repairs do not detract from the overall look of the candelabra,they have a highly polished antique patina and virtually no plate loss except for the minor even wear or (bleeding) to plate on the areas of high relief,the look so desired by collectors of Old Sheffield Plate the world over.These are rare and early pieces dating as they do from about 1780.Pairs of 18th century candelabra in Old Sheffield Plate are rare with most dating from the early 19th century,usually about 1820 or so.Standing 17 inches high.Price quoted includes free tracked,insured and signed for worldwide shipping.
