Medallion silver, shovel shaped berry spoon, with ornate shaded brite cut work covering most of the vermeil bowl. The reverse of the bowl is also vermeil. The maker, Wendt, famous for his Medallion silver, worked in Boston and New York. Marked 925 Ball, Black & Co., who was the retailer. These marks, without the word sterling, indicate the piece was made prior 1865. Length 8 1/2" Bowl 2 1/2" x 3 1/2". The condition is excellent; the only marks are located in the rear of the bowl where in a very small area the vermeil finish was disturbed by probably a teaspoon of berry juice which remained there too long. If not happy, you may return it.
