I can't believe how long I've had some residual pieces from the Philadelphia Main Line estate of a woman employed at the once local Wedgwood Museum. Most were sold off long ago, years! Here is a very nice basalt tankard. Trying to work out the Wedgwood dating system isn't altogether straightforward. But, so far as I can tell, this piece dates from 1969. Condition is very good; no chips, flakes or hairlines. Some wear, particularly on the base ridge; exactly where you would expect it. The dimensions are: 4 5/8"-4.75" tall, 5.5" long and 3 5/8" diameter at the base. I believe the piece is uncommon. I am listing all the remaining basalt pieces today.
