Victorian, circa 1870 Holdcroft Majolica cheese dome and stand. The dome is molded with fish swimming against a dark cobalt ground, above a bed of reeds. Fish handle on top of dome with three overlapping fish lying underneath. Four air holes. Ochre interior. Stand with reed molding around the rim and a mottled green, brown and ochre center. Ochre reverse. Good. Dome: No restoration. Some wear to cobalt ground. Kiln effect: staining to interior. Stand: Wear to the center. Kiln effect: over glazed shrinkage line to the rim. Two repairs to the rim. Restored chip to foot. 9.5ins high, 11ins wide
